The Therapists at CST work very hard to provide you with the one-on-one education and treatment you need and deserve. The excellent care you receive from our Therapists comes from years of experience in helping patients, like you, obtain the most appropriate CPAP machine and supplies for your needs and lifestyle, so that you'll get the most out of using your CPAP machine nightly.
Meet Autumn, a Registered Respiratory Therapist.
Autumn has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RT) for 11 years. She works hard to complete a number of continuing education credits to maintain the active status for her Maryland license.
Autumn enjoys helping her patients, and is delighted when they share with her how much their health and lifestyle have improved with CPAP treatment. Some of these improvements are drastic. "I remember how a particular patient's snoring had interfered with his marriage," said Autumn. "He had not slept in the same room with his wife for 2 years because of his snoring. After starting CPAP treatment, he moved back into their bedroom." With a bright smile, she says, "Thank goodness, he no longer has to sleep on the couch!"
She has also had many patients who no longer have to take medication for their high blood pressure because they are using their CPAP machines.
Autumn believes that the extended one-on-one time she spends to educate patients on their Sleep Apnea and the equipment they are using is what differentiates CST from its competitors. "We want to make the experience the most pleasant and comfortable as we possibly can," explains Autumn. "We want the patient to be able to tolerate the CPAP and get a good night's rest."
Always on top of trends, Autumn says that the newer, smaller machines and more comfortable masks that CST has obtained will make it easier for patients to seek and comply with their Sleep Apnea treatment.
Meet Lorna, a Certified Respiratory Therapist.
Lorna has been a Respiratory Therapist for 24 years, and like Autumn, keeps up to date in the latest advances in treating Sleep Apnea patients by taking continuing education courses.
Lorna enjoys spending time with her patients, and is willing to do whatever it takes to help her patients be successful in using their CPAP machine.
Overwhelmingly, Lorna's patients have reported that treating their Sleep Apnea has made them feel like they have their lives back.
Lorna has seen some remarkable changes in the health of Sleep Apnea patients over the years. "I've had patients who've seen their blood pressure return to normal, and have been able to reduce or discontinue their medicine. Some patients, who were constantly sleepy before treatment, couldn't nap now if they tried, " reports Lorna. "Like Autumn, I've seen marriages restored because Sleep Apnea patients have stopped snoring."
In the future, Lorna believes that there will be an increase in public awareness and education about Sleep Apnea, resulting in many more patients, young and old, using CPAP machines.
